Our Mission

At Oinos Experience, our desire is to introduce our guests to the wine culture and the beauties of our island and create for them an authentic and memorable experience. We are designing tours for exploring local wine tasting and gastronomy in Crete. The name oinos (oenos) is the ancient Greek word for wine and stands for the unique grape varieties, distinct appellations and a centuries-old tradition of wine making. Come with us and get your own experience of “oinos” (oenos), surrounded by the natural and historical splendors of our Mediterranean paradise.

Hello! I’m Areti Valtadorou, the founder of Oinos Experience. I am Greek, born in central Greece and raised in Heraklion, Crete. I have been working as a travel agent for 17 years in air ticketing and hotel reservations. I am a holder of IATA diploma and certified sommelier of WSET, with experience in Cretan wines and I have been in charge for 5 years of the visitable department of one of the oldest wineries in Crete. My passion for wine and the desire to share Crete's beauties with other people led me to create my own wine tours and day trips agency. I take great pride in getting you to know my homeland’s unique grape varieties and wine making culture. Crete has a special place in my heart and that is why offering you my services with respect and devotion is a top priority for me.
